AMPLIFIED: Nevada DMV explains how an auto shop owner tried to steal a customer’s BMW
A Las Vegas auto shop owner from Star Auto Care is facing theft and forgery charges after allegedly falsifying a repair bill to place a lien on a customer’s BMW and transfer the title. The vehicle owner had dropped off the BMW for routine maintenance, but the shop owner fabricated a $23,000 engine replacement bill to fraudulently seize the car. The Nevada DMV Compliance Division is reviewing four other similar lien cases tied to the same shop owner.
