Toyota 4Runner Tires, Brakes & Filters Repair Services

1. Mount, Install & Balance 4 Tires

• Labor: Mount & Install Tires: $214.10
  • Analysis: On the high end. Most shops charge 1–1.25 hours for mounting and balancing four tires, which at $150–$175/hr comes out to $150–$220. If their rate is closer to $130/hr, $214 is pricey but not outrageous for the Bay Area. Worth calling local shops to compare; national chains sometimes offer specials as low as $99 for mounting and balancing if you buy tires there.
• Light Truck All Season Wheel Weights: $15.68
  • Analysis: Wheel weights are usually included in mounting costs. This is a minor upsell, though a small amount.
• Parts: YOKOHAMA 245/60R20 (4): $962.68
  • Analysis: High compared to typical retail of $120–$180 each ($480–$720 total). Unless these are premium Yokohama tires or include warranties, $962 total is steep—around $240 each. Price these online for potential $150–$300 savings or bring your own tires.
• Additional Fees: Tire Disposal Fee (4): $12.00
  • Analysis: $3 per tire is typical.
• Total: $1,192.46

  • Analysis: Typical for the SF Peninsula/Bay Area. Usually $120–$170, often with coupons.
• Parts: None.
• Fees: None.

3. Disc Brake Pads & Rotors (Front)

• Labor: Remove & Replace Front Brake Pads: $347.92
  • Analysis: Significantly above usual. Typically 1.5–2 hours; this suggests 2–2.5 hours charged. At $155/hr, expect $225–$310. Could request a detailed breakdown to question padded labor time.
• Parts:
  • Brake Pad Set-Front: $138.73
    • High end, but could be premium pads.
  • Disc Brake Rotor Zinc Coated (2): $364.24
    • $182 each is very expensive. Name-brand rotors typically cost $60–$120 each unless these are genuine OEM or high-performance items.
