Expert Advice

The quote you've received for major repairs is pretty much standard for the industry. While there may be opportunities to save some money—up to about $1332 if you explore independent mechanics—the prices from your service center are competitive and fair. If you're considering alternatives, it might be worth chatting with a few local shops for a second opinion, but overall, your original quote isn’t unreasonable. Just make sure you're comfortable with the work being done and that you're getting the quality you expect.
