Paid Services/Repairs Breakdown

1. Maintenance Minder B1: $199.95

• This package usually includes an oil change, tire rotation, brake inspection, and general multi-point inspection.
• Typical Price: $100–$200 at a dealer or $80–$150 at an independent shop.
• The price is within a normal range for a dealer, maybe a little high for an independent, but nothing unusual. Not a sneaky upsell.

2. 120,000 Mile Service: $810.00

• Usually a large scheduled service including fluid changes, inspections, and possibly spark plugs, filters, etc.
• Typical Price: $400–$900 (depends on what’s actually included).
• On the high end, but not out of range for a dealer, especially if it includes spark plugs, all fluids, and filters. Ask for a detailed list of what’s included—sometimes things in B1 or other services are double-counted.
  Possible Upsell: Only if it's duplicating already-listed work.

3. Power Steering Pump Reseal: $680.00

• Stops leaks in the steering fluid system.
• Typical Price: $400–$800.
• Fair price for this job (dealer level), but it’s worth confirming whether a whole reseal is necessary or if a single leaking hose or fitting could be fixed.

Car vs. Repair Value

If the MDX is valued at $12–$26k, the repair costs remain less than buying a new car but spending nearly $10k in service is only worth it if the vehicle will be kept several more years.
