MOBERLYS CAR REPAIR

Moberly's Car Repair is an independent automotive shop in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, specializing primarily in Volkswagen and other European import vehicles. Under the leadership of owner David Moberly, the shop has operated for years in the local market, handling everything from routine maintenance to complex engine and cooling system repairs. Historically known as one of the few non-dealership options for VW owners in the area, the business recently expanded by acquiring a new commercial location on George O'Neal Road in late 2025.

Despite their longstanding presence and specialization in German autos, Moberly's Car Repair has faced notable turbulence and public scrutiny in recent years. In 2025, the shop was ordered by a civil court judge to pay $4,500 in damages after a highly publicized incident involving a botched repair that resulted in a customer's VW being dismantled and returned "in a box." Potential customers should weigh the shop's specialized import expertise against recent customer feedback regarding service consistency, communication, and transparency.
