DAUGHTERS OF DIVINE CHARITY
๐39 N Portage Path, Akron, OH 44303
Daughters of Divine Charity was a long-standing convent and assisted living facility located at 39 N. Portage Path in Akron's Highland Square. Operating out of the historic Leonora Hall and Francesca Residence, the sisters provided a supportive "home away from home" for women and seniors for nearly 80 years. Due to financial unsustainability, the religious order announced the closure of the facility in late 2025. In 2026, the property was auctioned and subsequently purchased by Grace House Akron to begin a new chapter of community service.
Please note that this historic location was a religious organization and residential care community, not an auto repair shop. The facility was widely beloved for its compassionate staff, daily onsite Mass, and beautiful historic architecture, and it never offered automotive services such as oil changes or brake repairs. It remains a cherished piece of local Akron history.
