BUTTER NUT SPORT
๐10077 State Route 38, PORT BYRON, NY 13140
Butter-nut Sport traces its roots back to the late 1950s when founder William "Wild Bill" Greene Sr. began operating an automotive repair shop and car dealership in the Syracuse area. Over the decades, Greene expanded his work to include repairing, building, and selling sports cars, motorcycles, and heavy equipment, alongside establishing one of Central New York's best-known firearms and gunsmithing establishments. His operations also extended to a farm and equipment property along State Route 38 in Port Byron, NY.
Following Greene's passing in 2020, the business was reorganized by owner Michael Serrao as Butter-nut Sport Shop Inc. and relocated its primary retail operations to 249 N. Main Street in Minoa, NY. While its historic ties in Port Byron and Syracuse included used car sales, motorcycle building, and vehicle repair, the modern shop focuses primarily on outdoor sporting goods, fishing tackle, and full-service on-site gunsmithing.
